Lead HydraSpecma’s BI journey and help unlock the potential of data and AI

HydraSpecma is a successful international group, and we are now taking our use of data and business intelligence to the next level. We see data as a strategic asset, not only for reporting and decision-making, but also as a key foundation for unlocking the potential of AI and advanced analytics across the organization.

To support this journey, we are establishing a dedicated BI team and are looking for a BI Lead / Product Owner who will take responsibility for both the BI strategy and the BI team.

In this role, you will lead HydraSpecma’s BI area and act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the BI development team, ensuring that the organization gets the most value from its data. You will have personnel responsibility for the BI team and play a key role in shaping how HydraSpecma uses data to drive business decisions and future innovation.

You will lead a BI team consisting of:

• BI Backend Developer / Architect

• BI Frontend Developer

Our BI platform is built primarily on Microsoft technologies, including Power BI.

The BI journey ahead

HydraSpecma operates with a diverse application landscape consisting of multiple ERP systems and business applications across the group. An important part of our BI journey is to consolidate data from these systems into a unified and scalable data platform.

At the same time, we are modernizing our BI landscape by gradually phasing out legacy BI and reporting solutions and replacing them with a modern analytics platform.

This creates a unique opportunity to establish a strong data foundation that supports both business intelligence and future initiatives within AI and advanced analytics.

Once the legacy landscape has been simplified, you will have the opportunity - together with the BI team - to shape the future BI roadmap and define how data and analytics should evolve across the HydraSpecma group.

Your role

As BI Lead / Product Owner, you will be responsible for both leading the BI team and driving the BI strategy across the organization.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs, translate them into BI solutions, and guide the BI team in delivering insights that create real business value.

The role combines leadership, strategic direction, and hands-on collaboration with both business and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the BI team, with personnel responsibility

• Act as Product Owner for internal BI initiatives, defining and prioritizing the BI roadmap

• Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the BI team

• Work with departments across the organization to understand their data needs, challenges, and goals

• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications together with the BI development team

• Manage and prioritize the BI product backlog

• Ensure BI solutions deliver real business value and are widely adopted

• Promote a data-driven culture across the organization

• Contribute to building a strong data foundation supporting future AI and advanced analytics initiatives

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across BI solutions

• Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders, IT, and the BI team

What success looks like in the first 12 months

During your first year in this role, you will play a key role in establishing the foundation for HydraSpecma’s future data and analytics capabilities.

First 3 months

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization

• Gain a deep understanding of HydraSpecma’s business processes, ERP landscape, and data sources

• Identify and align on the most important BI priorities

Within 6 months

• Establish clear collaboration between the BI team and business stakeholders

• Drive progress in consolidating data from multiple ERP systems and business applications

• Together with BI team, define and align on a clear BI roadmap for the organization

Within 12 months

• Establish a modern and scalable BI platform used across the organization

• Strengthen the company’s data-driven culture and BI adoption

• Help build the data foundation that enables future AI and advanced analytics initiatives

• Together with the BI team, define the long-term data and analytics roadmap for HydraSpecma

• Clear governance around how we evaluate and prioritize between business needs

About the team

Our BI team is part of our global IT department consisting of 26 colleagues located in Sweden, Denmark, China, and India. Our IT organization includes specialists in ERP, operations & support, and software development.

We value a collaborative work environment with an informal tone, where colleagues support each other across teams to deliver best-in-class service to the rest of HydraSpecma.

This role is based in Bårhult, just outside Gothenburg.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who combines strong leadership capabilities, business understanding, and BI expertise.

You enjoy working at the intersection of business, data, and technology, and you are comfortable taking a strategic perspective while ensuring progress in day-to-day BI initiatives.

Skills and experience

• Experience working as a BI Lead, Product Owner, BI Consultant, Business Analyst, or similar role

• Experience with team leadership or personnel responsibility

• Strong understanding of Business Intelligence concepts and tools, preferably Power BI

• Experience working with data models, ETL processes, and reporting

• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Analytical mindset with the ability to connect data insights to business outcomes

• Experience with Agile methodologies is an advantage

• Fluent in English and Swedish
